RE: ASSAULT
February
15th, 2008
UCPD
officers are currently investigating two campus assault cases that were
reported this afternoon. The first victim had reported to a Housing staff
member that she was assaulted near the sidewalk pathway between the Pentland & Lothian Residence Halls. According to the information related by the
staff member, the victim stated the incident occurred on Wednesday morning
between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 am. The victim related she was pushed down
to the asphalt from behind by the suspect. UCPD Detectives are attempting to
get more information from this victim
regarding
the specifics of this assault.
At
approximately 2:00 pm today, a second victim reported to UCPD that she was
walking on an unlit dirt pathway between Glenmor
& Lothian Residence Halls around midnight last night. She walked passed a
white male adult who grabbed her from behind and sexually assaulted her.
Additionally the victim stated the suspect was smoking a cigarette at the time
of the assault. UCPD is in the process of conducting an investigation in an
attempt to locate any additional information and crime scene evidence.
UCPD is
requesting anyone with additional information to contact the Campus Police
Department at (951) 827-5222. UCPD is asking all UCR Community members to be
aware of their surroundings and to walk in well lit areas. UCPD will be increasing patrols in this

RE: Plastic
Bottle Explosion
January 28,
2008
Last night
at about midnight a loud boom was heard outside the Pentland
Hill "O" Residence Hall. UCPD responded and found that a 2
liter plastic bottle containing a mixture of chemicals had exploded.
No injuries or property was damaged. No additional devices were
found during the search of the area. The Riverside County
Sheriff’s Department Bomb Team assisted with processing the crime
scene. UCPD is conducting a criminal investigation and the person(s)
responsible will be prosecuted.

RE: Robbery
Alert
On December
13th UCPD Officers responded to the 1200 block of University Avenue
(University Extensions Building) in reference to a robbery. At 7:50 p.m., a
student was approached by three black male adults wearing black/grey sweaters
with hoods. The suspects cornered the student and took his wallet and cell
phone. The suspects fled the area; no other suspect information is available.
